I ran it today for 5 miles. …the parking lot, that is. Sometimes you just do what you have to do. I am in Greensboro, NC, for a swim meet for #6 (Grace), and her warm ups started at 7 am this morning. With four kids along, it was too difficult to fit an early morning workout in and get her there on time!. Instead I dropped Grace off and #5 (Annie) watched #8 and #9 (C.C. and Sam) while I ran in the nearby paved paradise.
I suppose it is relative, but I don’t consider myself to be a workout junkie. I’ll easily take a day (or days) off when I’m tired or just can’t fit it in. However, there are definately times when I know I need a workout. A three-day swim meet is one of those times. I’ve decided that keeping my sanity is worthwhile. Sitting all morning to watch swimming, and then heading back again for another evening session of sitting….well, let’s just say a workout helps to keep me healthy…and sometimes more importantly…happy.
Yesterday between sessions I hit the hotel fitness center…not bad for about $100 a night! Small, it had a treadmill, a reclined bike, and an elliptical….so I did each one for 20 minutes, adding 10 lb. weights to the bike portion (biceps, triceps, and shoulders). With my daughter’s Ipod on Pandora, it was a great workout. What do you do when you are away and want to fit in a good workout?
